AGRO ECA PROTECT
Agro ECA is an innovative, environmentally friendly biostimulant and disinfectant based on Electro-Chemical Activation (ECA) technology. Its main active ingredient is hypochlorous acid (HOCl), which is also naturally produced in the white blood cells of mammals to fight infections.

Main Action and Benefits
Agro ECA acts simultaneously as a protective agent and growth stimulant, without containing aggressive chemicals.
- Powerful disinfectant: Destroys bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores through oxidation.
- Biostimulating effect: Improves plant metabolism, enhances photosynthesis and stimulates the root system.
- No withholding period: The product is completely safe. Crops can be consumed immediately after treatment.
- Environmental safety: Leaves no toxic residues in the soil or produce. It breaks down into microscopic amounts of salt and water.
Agricultural Applications
The product is versatile and can be used at various stages of crop cultivation:
| Application | Action |
|---|---|
| Seed treatment | Increases the germination rate and disinfects the surface of the seeds. |
| Foliar spraying | Protects against downy mildew, grey mould, bacterial diseases and other pathogens. |
| Irrigation (fertigation) | Disinfects the irrigation system from biofilm and improves nutrient absorption. |
| Post-harvest treatment | Extends the storage life of fruit and vegetables by preventing rot. |
Why Is It Effective?
Unlike traditional fungicides, to which pathogens often develop resistance, Agro ECA acts through a physicochemical mechanism. It destroys the cell wall of microorganisms, making it practically impossible for pathogens to adapt to it.
Important: The product is highly concentrated and is normally diluted with water according to the specific purpose (preventive or therapeutic treatment).
Technical Details
- Active substance: Hypochlorous acid (HOCl).
- pH: Usually neutral or slightly acidic, making it gentle on plant tissues.
- Certification: Often approved for use in organic farming (check the specific product label for the current certification).
Since Agro ECA is a specific product, its effectiveness strongly depends on concentration. As it works through oxidation, the main rule is not to mix it with living biological products (beneficial bacteria or fungi such as Trichoderma), as it will neutralise them.
DOSAGE
Protected Vegetables
Courgettes, green beans, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, radishes and lettuce.
Spraying – Preventive Treatment
Apply cyclically once a week, and twice a week during prolonged periods of rainfall.
- Concentration: 2.5%
- Application rate: 400–1200 L/ha (10–30 litres of product/ha).
Therapeutic Treatment
To limit or stop disease development, apply as soon as possible after symptoms appear.
- Concentration: 4%
- Application rate: 500–1000 L/ha (25–50 litres of product/ha).
Effectiveness against fungal diseases: Effective in limiting Alternaria, Didymella (black stem rot), Fusarium, angular leaf spot, powdery mildew, downy mildew (cucurbit downy mildew), grey mould, late blight (leaf symptoms) and Sclerotium rot.
Limiting bacterial and viral diseases: Has a limiting effect on the spread of Pseudomonas syringae, Clavibacter michiganensis, ToBRFV and CMGGV.
Growth or Immunity Stimulation
In cases of severe abiotic or biotic stress:
- Concentration: 2.5–4%
- Application rate: 400–600 L/ha (10–15 litres of product/ha).
Abiotic Stress – High Temperatures
- Concentration: 2.5%–4.0%
- Application: 6–24 hours before the onset of high temperatures.
- During prolonged periods of high temperatures, apply the product 2–3 times per week.
Cold Fogging
Disease Prevention and Growth Stimulation
- Use once a week; under high humidity, twice a week is recommended.
- Concentration: 15–20%
- Dosage: 10–20 litres of Agro ECA Protect in 60–120 litres of working solution per hectare.
Reducing High-Temperature Stress
- Apply 6–24 hours before exposure to high temperatures.
- Concentration: 15–20%.
- During prolonged periods of high temperatures, use 2–3 times per week.
Instructions for Use
- Treatment time: In the evening, at night or early in the morning (on sunny days). On cloudy days, treatment can also be carried out during the day. Apply in closed facilities.
- Fogging adjuvants: The use of a fog carrier is recommended. The best solution is 99% pure propylene glycol (safe for people and plants) at a rate of 3%. At low humidity, 5% may be used. Glycerine may also be used.
- Warning: Do not use ethylene glycol or mixtures of polyhydric alcohols in the presence of plants. Diethylene glycol is also not recommended.
Position the fogging device so that it is not directed straight at the plants. Condensation of the solution on nearby leaves may cause damage or “burns”.
Fogging Dosage Table – Per 1,000 m²
Example dosage of Agro ECA Protect for cold fogging over an area of 1,000 m². Values represent the minimum and maximum recommended doses.
| Treatment Purpose | Concentration | Agro ECA Protect | Water | Total Solution | Frequency |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Prevention and growth | 15%–20% | 1.0–2.0 L | 5.0–10.0 L | 6–12 L | Once a week (twice under high humidity) |
| Abiotic stress (heat) | 15%–20% | 1.0–2.0 L | 5.0–10.0 L | 6–12 L | 2–3 times per week during prolonged heat |
Dosage for 130 Litres of Working Solution
For 130 litres of cold fogging working solution at the recommended 15% to 20% concentration.
This quantity of solution is sufficient to treat an area of approximately 11,000 to 20,000 m², depending on the capacity of your machine.
| Component | At 15% | At 20% |
|---|---|---|
| Agro ECA Protect | 19.5 litres | 26.0 litres |
| Water | 110.5 litres | 104.0 litres |
| Total solution | 130 litres | 130 litres |
Note: Fogging with Agro ECA Protect is particularly recommended during spring, late summer and autumn, when air humidity in greenhouses is high.
If the water pH is above 7.5, it must be acidified. Citric, nitric or phosphoric acid may be used. You may use 500 g of citric acid per 100 L of water. Do not use acidifiers based on ammonium nitrate.
Compatibility with Other Products
Agro ECA is unique due to its electrochemical activity. Here is what you need to know:
- Fertilisers: Generally compatible with most mineral fertilisers, but it is recommended to add Agro ECA last to the working solution.
- Pesticides: Mixing with copper- or sulphur-based products in the same tank is not recommended, as an undesirable reaction may occur.
- Water: Works best with water at a neutral pH. If the water is very hard, its effectiveness may be slightly reduced.
